About the Artist

Many people tend to pronounce "Kaimuki" with a "mookie" sound at the end. The correct way to pronounce "Kaimuki" is "KAI-moo-KEEEE". There is less emphasis on the "moo" and more on the "KEEE" sound.
Falin Minoru is an Oakland based artist. He is the designer, mold maker, slip pourer, glaze technician and janitor behind Tiki Kaimuki Ceramics. His original designs are based on traditional oceanic art filtered through vintage Japanese superhero images, lazy childhood summers in Hawaii, early punk rock, and the calming sensations of intoxication.

All TIKI KAIMUKI pieces are made from hand sculpted originals that have

been molded and slip cast. Each piece is hand detailed and unique.

Production numbers are limited for high collectability and even more so for the simple fact that when it no longer remains artistically interesting to make a piece, the design is retired.
